I am travelling to Dénia next month. I would like to know if there are hiking trails in the area and which of those are appropriate for biking. Thanks.     Comments 0 Comments

For hiking, in Dénia you will find the Montgó Mountain Natural Park with some routes leading to several areas of high landscape value (L’Aigua Cave, Camell Cave, the summit, etc). To reach the starting point, go to Jaume I Square and then take the Road Camí Pou de la Muntanya leading to the Pare Pere Chapel. There, you will find an area to park your car and a map board showing the routes. To find out more, visit our website section “Nature” or go to the Montgó Natural Park Visitor Centre where some hiking excursions are organized (Phone 966 423 205).

You can also walk in the new Via Verde Route located in the Pego Ancient Road. It is a plain green route located over an old train railway of 6,5 kilometres. You will be enjoying walks surrounded by fields of orange and pine trees.

For biking, you have several routes to choose:

- The Via Verde Route, mentioned before, has been asphalted for biking.

-  Route from Les Bassetes Park (Las Marinas Beach) to the North Dock (3.4 km).

- The stony coast of Las Rotas (5 km) is a promenade next to the sea bordering the coves of Las Rotas.

- The route around the Montgó Mountain (26 km) has low inclinations starting from Germans Maristes Street next to the Jaume I Square.

What kind of seaweed are we seeing at Las Marinas Beach?   Comments 0 Comments

Hello María. They are not actually seaweed but they are quite similar to. They are plants of forest of submarine vegetation revealing the rich biodiversity of our marine environment. Nowadays, the prairies of Ocean Posidonia oxygenate the Mediterranean Sea. For instance, it is calculated a square metre of prairie generates 10 litres of oxygen per day. So we should be thankful for having such a sea floor because is the base of the nurture of most fishes, shellfishes and sea urchins of our coast.

Hello, some friends are visiting Dénia in a month and we would like to know where can we find night life areas. Thanks!     Comments 0 Comments

Firstly we suggest you to have a drink in San Antonio Square in the fishing quarter or in La Mar Street where you can find a huge number of pubs of several atmospheres.

If you prefer to have a drink in the evening enjoying the views of the Castle of Dénia and the sea front, you may visit the port area named El Portet. If you prefer the views of the Montgó Mountain, feeling surrounded by the sea, we recommend you to go to La Marina of Denia Port Area.

If you desire to stay all night long, you can visit La Mar Street, where you can listen to good music and dance approximately until 3 or 3.30 am. If you are looking for beer gardens you can find them in La Marina of Dénia where you will be enjoying a summer atmosphere.
